I’m starting on some work for Sick Chirpse’s series of guides to the Monarchs of Britain. This work in progress drawing is of William III who was the king from 1689 to 1702. You’ll probably have to wait for the third instalment of their series to see the fully finished, coloured, inked picture if they do end up using my stuff.
The good thing about drawing monarchs is that they were all so odd looking. Something about a small gene pool that really brings out the weird!
This is what Sir Godfrey Kneller reckoned he actually looked like. I think I need to ramp up the forehead on my version and boost up the eye volume.
